DESCRIPTION
Title - "House of Music"
The image shows the emblematic building of the Casa da Música (in Portuguese) in Porto, Portugal. House of Music, was designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas as part of the Porto European Capital of Culture event in 2001 (Porto 2001). The architecture of the building was internationally acclaimed. Nicolai Ouroussoff, a New York Times architecture critic, called it "the most attractive project architect Rem Koolhaas has ever built" and "a building whose intellectual ardor is combined with his own." sensual beauty ”.
The fact that House of Music's structure is made of white concrete “in sight” with all the hidden service elements has forced extraordinary coordination between the design and service teams. The concrete type (white) required particular attention to ensure no visible cracking.
