Conceptual nominee

I’m a Dane living in Berlin. For a long time I’ve been engaged in an environment where nudity is a normality, all sexualities are acceptable and where all body shapes and sizes are blessed. Therefore, it is natural for me to shoot pictures of naked people. The concept of this series is portraits of naked people, shot in broken mirrors. The title refers to the emotions and the movements the contributors embraced. The series is about letting go and having a moment with yourself as you communicate with yourself and your body in the mirror. Looking at oneself in fragments takes the focus away from looking at one's body as a whole and all its faults and deficiencies. Instead, you look more kindly at parts of your body and your movements. Berlin is a very extreme and experimental city and it is easy to lose yourself in it. The series is about being in contact with one's body and emotions, which can easily be forgotten in many scenarios in one's life. In love affairs and in everyday life. The contributors share that they all live some extreme lives but the shoot gave them time to reflect and accept their vulnerability.
