This photo series was the result of two months of living together where we shared our concerns and the issues we face - as Mexican women and citizens of the world - in a society ruled by inequalities and vertiginous changes.
The idea was to portray stereotyped characters and to decontextualize them of their environment, their space, their reality, their time. In a world full of norms and political correctness, the incoherence is imposed, and the logic of good manners appears to be flexible and confusing.
The aim of this decontextualization was to isolate each character, element and space to uncover issues that need to be addressed such as intolerance, the distorted image of women, the technological alienation, misinformation, exodus, abuse, the act of lying, victimization, disconnection, among others.
All of the characters are performed by Corinne Spitalier. We had fun playing at cut out paper dolls, the ones that cut be cut out and its outfits exchanged, with the intention of finding and superposing identities. Who photographed these scenes? Probably all of the people outside the frame, those who are observing or casually walking by. Any voyeur... any person who lives armed with a cellphone, compulsively registering every piece of our surroundings.
