Conceptual nominee

This photo is about women in unhappy marriages or relationships. ‘Decreased because Deception’ is the last photo that is part of a series. I believe that the image can stand on its own as a single image and pronounces the theme of women in unhappy romantic relationships . The photo portrays how some women react to a displeasure in their marriage. They would reach for the apex of perfection, but slowing deteriorate their own image and happiness with the goal of perfection. The thought of leaving the person they once thought was perfection would be an abomination especially if children or wealth is in the equation. I decided to create this image because I was constantly around these women growing up. I want women in these situations to see what they look or feel like in ‘Decreased because Deception ’ and realise that they can find true happiness in themselves instead of throwing on a mask or turning away from deception.

My name is Reagan Farrington and I am an international student from the Bahamas who is studying in the uk. I am currently studying the BA course Film and digital art at the University for the creative arts (Farnham Campus). I am in love with traditional fine art, but I always thought that my narrative are portrayed better digitally than on a canvas. I've recently developed my skills in photography and plan to learn more while I study this course.
