A dreary scene depicting people living as clones devoid of individual self-expression.
They are objects of convention and stereotypes held in bondage and stripped of color. They live as mechanical lifeless men heading to ‘nowhere’.
The world comes alive when people express their unique gifts, when people reject convention and embrace human creativity.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Uzor Ugoala is a conceptual photographer/visual artist. He started off in photography late 2017 as a means of curious artistic exploration and self-expression. His craft has gradually morphed into works that intensely stimulate the viewer’s visual sense, challenging and poking at self-imposed limitations that are reinforced passively or actively by culture and society. His works mirror the ‘self’ and invite the viewer to engage in deep introspection.
With distinct imagery, he conveys intense mood and emotion as he draws inspiration for his work from diverse sources ranging from soul music to real life experiences to personal observation to books on spirituality and psychology.
His creative process begins with a simple pencil sketch of an idea to fabrication of props - which are hand-made from basic materials like plastics, straw boards, spray paints, chains, plastic garbage bags and so on - to selection of models and appropriate shoot location to execution of shoot to post-processing of raw images to eventual printing of final image. Each work of art comes in a limited edition of archival artpaper print.
It is his hope that his art and unique imagery stimulates the viewer to engage in introspection and thus enter a realm of self-liberation.
