Landscape nominee

This photo is part of my series Within The Clouds.

For this series I travelled to Southern Tyrol to the region of the Dolomites.
I choose this specific location as the front rock is perfectly lining up with the pointy and rough rock structures in the back.
I had to mountain hike to the location and wait two days within dense clouds for the perfect conditions to occur, where the clouds broke open at the front rock and
semi circled the alpine peaks in the back simultanously, to create this dramatic nature scene. This moment lasted for a few minutes only.

I created this series out of my passion for the astonishing beauty of the European alps regions for other people to see how incredible
and real our earth is. Especially people, who are not able to travel for whatever reason.

Every technical photography element that makes this series unique was planned and executed by myself and I did the editing to keep control over the results from choosing the season for travelling to the endresult.

Dominique is an award winning amateur fine art photographer, highly passionate about dramatic alpine landscapes and corresponding storytelling. Playing with light and shadows, different perspectives and techniques to tell an emotionally captivating story is her signature.
Dominique is located in central Switzerland and mostly photographs the Swiss and other European alps regions.
She spends all of her free time hunting for "the moment" portraiying the beauty of the alps and addressing current social issues such as recentering, self-reflection and conservation.
