Nudes nominee

These images of pregnant nudes are from a larger body of work that I have been creating for the last decade. The scope and scale changing from small format abstracts to large format 8x10, the subject matter creating cohesion whilst the format changes and locations give variation matching the forms that are being photographed.

Based in London, Christopher John works across many photographic formats beginning with film back in the 90’s, moving to digital and then back to film. His work at this time began to focus on traditional black and white photography and darkroom printing using small, medium and large format.

His work is primarily based on personal projects beginning with a collection of short projects “Ruminations of a Suburban Mind” which collectively explore eroticism, the beauty, damage and contradictions associated within that view point.

He now devotes his time exploring and honing his craft within the darkroom whilst working on an increasing number of large format images.
