Portrait nominee

Tima has been involved in the music business from the age of 13 when she was invited to watch Cream record ’Politician’ at Atlantic Studios. Now a producer of internationally recorded concerts such as Foo Fighters at the Parthenon, she may seem tough, but is as a softy at heart. I photographed her in her LA Canyon’s home, with her rescued poodle Sunny, who was saved from the meat industry in Korea.

A graduate of Sydney College of the Arts, Karen is a photographer who images everyday objects and locations, isolating them from their mundane environment to show each in an entirely new light. Her subject matter ranges from weathered external walls, underground car park basements to outdoor skip bins – from locations as diverse as Outback Australia to Vietnam.
