My Ghagra Choli
Abhi Chinniah
My Ghagra Choli (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Sunaina wears her purple Ghagra Choli, sitting on her deck in the middle of Auckland, New Zealand. This traditional outfit which was made in Hyderabad, India, was hand stitched for a wedding with stunning intricate detail. Historically, the Ghagra Choli was worn by women in ancient India tracking back to the 10th century. A symbol of a continuing journey of tradition in a remote Western country, Sunaina wears her Indian heritage, culture and history with pride. Proving that no matter where we go, our stories, culture and traditions will follow.
