Travel nominee

The steady roar of the surf at Pantai Pasut on the south coast of Bali is drowned out. In the early morning, long before sunrise, hundreds of motorcycles chase over the wide, black sandy beach. Young people celebrating an upcoming temple festival in their own special way. Suddenly the spook is over, silence spreads. Little by little, festively dressed men, women and children with prayer flags arrive on the gently sloping beach.

I live and work as a freelance artist and photographer in Bern, Switzerland.
