All around us, wild creatures carry out their lives seemingly unhindered by the day to day hustle and bustle and the stresses that we as humans must face in everyday life. They may go unnoticed, taken for granted or thought of as pests. In our busy lives, we often forget how much we depend on wildlife to maintain the balance in the natural world, and how much our wild neighbors depend on us to protect and preserve them and their habitats.
The African Lion (Panther Leo), is one such animal that is facing a dire threat to its existence. Canned hunting, specific breeding for the “cub petting” trade and the illicit lion bone market are all very real threats to the continued existence of the African lion.
In this series "KINGS & QUEENS" I want to portray the magnificence, strength and courage of this beautiful animal and raise awareness to love, safe and preserve our vanishing wildlife for us and our future generations.
