Abstract nominee

At high magnification, these citrus fruits seem otherworldly. Composed of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of tiny juice sacs, you can see the vesicles that hold the juice within the blood orange and lime. Light from above highlights the striations on the skin of the vesicles housed within the orange’s crimson flesh appearing like muscles, while light from below emphasizes the translucent, chartreuse vesicles of the lime appearing like tentacles of a sea anemone.
