Project Statement
It was a hot summer in the mid-80s. I was still a child and the cold war divided the world. My father took me on a journey north, towards the sea. Together we stood on the shores of the Baltic Sea. We looked at the white ships which were reaching for the horizon.
I could only guess their aim. It had to be something indescribable about it, this unattainable place of longing. And for a long time it remained in me as an unsolved mystery.
More than 30 years later - after the Peaceful Revolution and the opening of the boarders - I am there. From the Scandinavian cliffs i look over to the shores of my childhood.
The unattainable has become reality.
