Manmade-Organic City (Series)
DESCRIPTION
After the Hong Kong native, Jimmi Ho won Sony World Photography Awards in 2016, Choi Hung Estate had become a famous spot of pictures for Instagram. I passed by the place one morning and saw the place was flooded with tourists and people outside the estate and causing complaints in local residents. In my opinion, that was an example of people interacting with architecture. Wanting to find out how the locals interact with the estate, I went into the building, climbed 20 floors, and found myself discovering a slightly different perspective: the perspective of the building changed every floor. The building looked so interesting, and what made it better was the residents, the tourists, in general, humans. People would dump trashes under the floor, play basketball on the platform, dry their bedsheets... The interactions of organic us and the artificial buildings fascinates me!
