A holon is something that is simultaneously a whole and a part.
The seed is the beginning and the end, the origin and the completion of the whole. The journey of the seed to its final form is a symbol for the journey of the soul.
The Oak represents mighty power, from its huge botanical structure to the strength of the wood itself. It is often called the king of trees, not just due to its size but its ability to survive environmental change. Now however, human activities are taking a toll on these magnificent trees.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Over the last 25 years I have become deeply connected with the plant world; while influencing their lives for my own ends in my garden and my studio, I have been at the same time studying the extraordinary secret life of plants.
My practice is an inquiry into the philosophy of the deep ecology of plants and their innate gesture. As well as revealing plants in an intimate way in their natural environment, I also work in collage, using natural forms as metaphor to explore concepts.
As more evidence unfolds about plant intelligence and their ability to connect with each other and with the wider world, I question our relationship with plants and our perception of nature as a whole.
Recent awards include:
2017 – Julia Margaret Cameron awards, International, Winner, Nature
2017 - Association of Photographers Awards, London UK. Finalist, Non-commissioned Object Single image
2018 - Pollux Awards, International, Winner, Digital Manipulation & Collage
2019 - Moscow international awards, Silver, Science/Environment
2020 - Pollux Awards, International, Winner Nature
