DESCRIPTION
For several years, as part of her research, Matthey has been working on the project on the Third Eye: a series of photographs that together constitute a composite archive of looks, a sensorial map built across and beyond the pupils of the characters portrayed, beyond the retinal impression and the photographic objective to open up to further and unexpected conjunctures. For each subject, Matthey made a macro shot of a single eye in which the reflection of a place, the exteriorization of a thought, a moment or simply a talent is imprinted, summarizing the symbol of inspiration linked to the subject portrayed. This shot represents for Matthey the “third eye”, or rather that “beauty inside” capable of leaving a mark and a and a value to the aesthetic research present in the photographic project in its entirety.
Many famous artists partecipates to the project: Mimmo Jodice, Martin Schoeller, Steve McCurry etc..
