My central theme is the fragment, the fragmentation, the breaking. At present, numerous states, social systems, ideologies, values are breaking up. Society sees itself as a dynamic system that is constantly being rebuilt. At the same time, the life cycles of social constructs are getting shorter and shorter. But breaking does not only mean defect and destruction, it is also an evolutionary mainspring of mankind: breaking, analyzing, and putting together differently. From the fragment to the building block, then. A hot topic in social matters, in many areas of science, and of course in contemporary art production.
The submitted works can be considered as reflections on the tensions and frictions between different matter, space and time. How much heterogeneity can a picture take to still be perceived as a unit? How much heterogeneity does a picture need to develop a vital tension? I often try to shape the picture elements as if they were sound - visible sound. Sound can shake, penetrate and overcome physical matter. What interests me most about sound is its radical expansion behavior and its high degree of volatility. Sound is the dark matter of visual art.
