This image conceptually explores the mind's predisposition to choose fantasy over reality and invites an awakening of the imagination.

Viewers are encouraged to pause, examine and connect with the image. The uncorked decanter suggests the mind without restriction while the orange clouds exiting and reentering the frame are a play on traveling thoughts. It is left untitled to allow for open interpretation. My hope is to inspire creativity through allowing our minds to drift wherever they may.

Erik Sven is an emerging conceptual and fine arts portraitist based in Seattle. He specializes in dramatic, narrative lighting with a painterly feel. His images invite viewers to linger and explore the relationships formed between people, emotion and fantasy. His approachable character allows his subjects to feel at ease in front of the camera. This confidence resonates in the final images and is meant to encourage inner and external dialogue amongst viewers.
