Beyond the attraction towards those white and almost lunar landscapes, this body of work focuses on isolation. What stroke me in those desertic lands is the isolation that comes out of it. The subject is photographed alone as if forgotten. The monotony of the surrounding amplify the feeling of solitude. You can almost hear the silence in some of the pictures. Those images appear to me as the reflect of an inner landscape, an intimate turmoil. As we live in a world where speed has become the norm, contemplation seems increasingly difficult to achieve. Loneliness then appears as a hand stretched towards this beyond but it can also leads to depression. Sometime this omnipresent white horizon even feel overwhelming and leads to a sort of vertigo.
