Nature nominee

Flowers wither in our vases all day long. Far from vanitas intentions, my attention is focused on the individual flower with its leaves, their shape and color. They stand out against a black and white background. The petals curve, loll, twist, seem to contract, and transform from something flat to a body with volume and apparent mass in three dimensions. The sheet becomes a sculpture. And finally, the transformation to an abstract form in space freezes, which only remotely recalls the original splendor. Absurd and bizarre! Delicate and fragile. Sheer and paper-like. Other biomorphic forms flash associatively and the story begins again.
