Now Here II (Single)
DESCRIPTION
In ‘Now here’ we find the complexity of the personality expressed as between the continues layers of reality. ‘Being here’ is ‘being in now’. We can conceptualize ‘Now Here’ as an epiphany which reveals the truth about our partly fictional being within space-time as one without coordinates.
‘Now Here’ evokes the uncanny uneasiness of the here-and-now being, thus reminding the viewer of the Heideggerian notion of Dasein, the there-being. The field of semantics, revealing the endless layers of the being which is capable of infinitely folding in on itself.
This image is from the Now Here series. I have photographed my model Songul Haydarpasa in one day only until the sun goes down and examined how the now being unfolded itself with in same meter square reflected different images. I am still collecting the moments from that day by working on them, so it is continuing in its infinite possibilities of there-being.
AUTHOR
Cagla Baykal, is a fine art photographer, based in Istanbul, Turkey.
She started her career as a fashion director for a global magazine Marie Claire Turkey in 1996 and continued in fashion director of Elle Turkey, after her graduation from LCF (London College of Fashion) Fashion Design. In following years, she has been the art and fashion director of most known campaigns in fashion, commercial, photography and television industries.
She started her second career as a Fine Art photographer. Her works has been published in global magazines.
