The first photocollage consits of different images – by cutting and recreation. I took these basic photos in Berlin Marzahn-Hellersdorf. That’s one of the districts in the eastern part of Berlin. It’s famous for the typical socialism-architecture in the 70s and 80s in the former German Democratic Republic of Germany, called “Plattenbau”. I tried to increase the skyline to create a new dramatic utopia for Berlin – with new structures, forms and patterns. It’s also the first image of a new photo-series, where I try to focus on the main content of the images and emphasize it by “rebuilding the reality”.
For the second collage I took different photos in Brandenburg and Berlin in 2019 as well. It’s like the pendent to “Berlin Marzahn-Hellersdorf”. Here I tried to increase the structure of the woods by putting different photographs together to create a “sea” of woods in front of the skyline of Berlin.
