Inspired by my childhood dreams and further encouraged with lifelong love for nature and animals, I wanted to create worlds where animals exist as equal characters, as narrators of a modern fairy tale, who share with us the same environment, but also guide us through these remote, but at the same time beautiful landscapes and cityscapes.
This is their story where they take us on a journey to distant but familiar places in some faraway lands, presented in a dreamlike, surreal way. In calming sceneries these animals with personified qualities act as strange but gentle giant characters.
With their presence they bring harmony and raise environmental awareness, they merge urbanization with serene nature, but also open a door to the universe which we cannot see in reality and make us think twice about the way we observe world around us.
By creating peaceful, strange and even humorous situations and twisted animal habitat sceneries which exist somewhere between material world and imagination I want to share my dreamscapes and visions, and offer a visual escape from harsh and often cruel reality.

She feels a profound fascination with human behavior: with her works she searches to underline the psychological and social aspects of our identity and effects that endless soul searching has on our lives.

Nikolina's work has been shown in numerous international exhibitions and several art projects.
Her work is included in the largest exhibition of contemporary surrealism art in the world "International Surrealism Now" and is also represented in the prestige "Lexikon phantastischer Künstlerinnen" by Gerhard Habarta.
