Birth of Venus (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the Old Masters after a trip to Italy, I decided to do my version of the Old Masters "below the surface" using my underwater photography. This image was shot underwater and then embellished with my own artistic elements to create my version of "Birth of Venus".
AUTHOR
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Suzanne's affinity for the water was realized when she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after graduating college. Passionate about photography since childhood, She was self-taught, attended college photography courses, and was mentored by portrait photographer, Willie L. Hill (her teacher, friend, critic and constant support).
Her preferential interest, as an artist, is creativity through Photographic Art. Although she is looking through a lens, it is what she sees "intuitively" that controls the "decisive moment" of the shutter release. She is an "old school photographer" who has embraced the digital era and it's tools to create unique combinations of color, design and imagination.
A professional Photographer since 1985, her newest endeavor, "Tiny Dancer Underwater Fine Art Series" was born of her yearning to explore the underwater locale in 2015. That same year she was commissioned by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to produce 2 pieces of art for their permanent collection aboard "Harmony of the Seas".
Her Underwater Series is symbolic, peaceful and inspired by nature.
To date she has received 4 awards, has been published 13 times, and has enjoyed 5 solo exhibitions, and 32 juried group exhibitions
