DESCRIPTION
In this portrait, I try to explore the relationship between human being and our nature. The woman under the camera plays an injured swallow, and behind her, there is an approaching human's hand.
AUTHOR
Tianyi Zhang (B. 1995, Hunan, China) lives and works in Beijing, & Brooklyn, NY. Earning an MFA (’19) Degree in Photographic and Electronic Media at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and a BFA (’17 & ’14) in Studio Photography, and Design respectively, from The Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), in Beijing, China where she won numerous awards of excellence while studying. Zhang was featured at Pinewood Studios in UK, and ESMoA Video Art+Film Festival in CA. The artists photography and video have been presented at ElijahWheat Gallery, Brooklyn, NY, CICA Museum in South Korea, The Village Theater in Danville, CA, the ICA Baltimore, Riggs & Leidy Gallery in Baltimore, as was highlighted on LED boards during Artscape Baltimore 2019. Zhang’s work has been reviewed or appeared in Pint Volat, Soleil Rouge, and picked as 15 things not to miss in New York's Art World in Artnet News.
