DESCRIPTION
Exploring the relationship between the confident stance and direct gaze of the stallion with that of his young handler, the attention to textural ornament and opulence of garments creating a Baroque feel reminiscent of the Great Masters
AUTHOR
A fine art graduate in 1993, I became established as a portrait painter concentrating on equines. My photography was an important supportive role offering sharp working reference imagery.
Over the last 5 years my practice has become almost exclusively photographic, exploring styled portraiture and evocative images of the horse, sometimes as partners, sometimes alone.
During covid lockdowns I experimented with remote shooting and underwater imagery, something that I have now developed into scenes reminiscent of Renaissance art.
