Inhabited city (Series)
DESCRIPTION
All images are unpublished and were taken in the last half of 2019 as part of a Psychogeographic survey of the historic city of Seville, Spain. Performed in the vein of the Situationist International, the images are accompanied by coordinates to allow viewers to easily locate the points of interest using their preferred Maps application. Once home to the greatest artists of the Baroque period, Seville is, despite popular wisdom, no stranger to change and now finds itself subject to the recent phenomena of Touristification. What lasting impact this has on the city is will be seen in time, yet the light and shadows that colour the evolving cityscape of the birthplace of Velázquez remain untouched. Here one may find moments of reflection, from the shade of the orange trees that rise from the cobblestones, looming in differing tones, to the outline cast by a lamppost on a centuries-old wall.
