The annual staging of the Battle of Grunwald attracts thousands of medieval history enthusiasts and reenactorsfrom all over the world
For many yearsreenactors from knighthood chivalries from all over Poland, as well as guests from Europe and the entire world take part in the re-enactment
of the historic battle which took place on 15 July 1410.
Reenactors stay in historical camps, they built on the spot a few days before the battle. They live there like people did in medieval times. They do not use modern appliances, they cook according to the medieval recipes and they dress in historical clothes.
Together with reenactors arrive craftsmen and artisans, who manufacture costumes, cookware and various types of medieval weapons.
For years the re-enactment of the battle of Grunwald attracts tens of thousands of visitors.
Every year in the knight campsappear some elements reflecting current political or cultural events. Last year a part of the Teutonic camp was marked as „Fort Trump”, referring to the efforts of Polish government regarding establishing a military base in Poland by NATO.
