Abstract nominee

The unique characteristics of botanicals are emphasized when rendered within the rotational symmetry of the mandala form. Maple samaras, ornamental grasses, and miniature tulips were photographed and rotated at equidistant positions to complete a full rotation using my technique of Precise Incremental Rotation. An in-camera multiple exposure of 8-16 exposures was used to create the effect.

As an artist specializing in close-up and macro photography, I use the camera as an instrument of art and science. I delight in creating experiments that I can photograph in an artistically meaningful way.
