Stairways represent steps to a destination, nowhere and infinity. A beginning, transition or the end.
The shapes, shadows and silhouettes of stairways captures a sense of hope, endeavour, confusion, achievement and resilience. Whether up, down or round the bends, each image takes the viewer on a journey through the photographer’s lens and speaks of light, darkness and the unknown.
Taken in between lockdowns. Using a fisheye lens, B&W in high contrast brings the 3D subject into the frame. This series speaks of "Hope" (1), "Endeavour" (2), "Confusion" (3), "Achievement" (4) and "Resiliance" (5).

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I am a solicitor by profession and I live in London.
I started photography in 2016 and learn mostly through experimenting and lateral application. Particularly, exploring the potential of light, motion, shadows and reflections - in the context (but not specific genre) of abstract, creative, ICM, architecture, urban street and night photography - to evoke emotion, wonder and curiosity. It gives me great excitement and revelation to detect an unexpected perspective, observation or twist of the ordinary or to capture insightful moments of mindfulness.
My "photography bubble" enables me to step into a parallel dimension that is experiential, innovative and healing. I am in a special space when behind the lens.
Not long after I took up photography, I encountered a permanent interruption to my work life. I now express positive energy into fine art photography… my images often present themselves from a vantage point I don't see with my eyes, but through my lens… often moody, mysterious, meaningful.
I take on the challenge to push boundaries and break rules as true artistic vision must be creatively captured with the heart. I focus on the process of making images and leave the outcome to speak for itself.
