In this series, I use a long exposure camera movement as a visual mean to get away from the everyday humdrum copies of the subjects, but rather to get a unique image.
Сoncrete, metal, glass and dull color of wall facing... This is how one can often characterize the boring appearance of the most houses built over the past three decades reflecting cultural, social and economic stagnation. Recently, in the city of Kyiv I am glad to see some attempts to move away from this practice. The photos were taken in one of the new districts, where color dominate over the grayness of old and new buildings in its bright diversity. This series is a visualization of my desire to get away from the dullness and routine in the everyday life. The series was created under the influence of Expressionism, where color is a fundamental element and also under the influence of such artists as Kazimir Malevich, Morris Louis, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Daniel Flavin.
