Figure and Form (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This series is about the interplay of the human form and nature. The human as an organic being shaped to interact in a balanced way with their surroundings. Honouring and respecting them. The human figure adapting to nature, not the other way around. A melting of subjects.
AUTHOR
Originally from Austria, Michaela is currently based in Berlin, Germany. She is a self-taught photographer focusing on fine art and portrait photography. For her online presence she is mainly known as Lia Niobe.
The over-arching theme of her work is the interaction between humans and nature. What began as surrealistic storytelling grew into a desire to explore the human self in relation to nature. This exploration has continued to raise questions, which she tries to give form to through her images. They are an attempt to envoke reconnection to the soul through stories and connectedness to natural elements.
Her images have been exhibited in Austria, Finland and Germany.
