Autumn Pond (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Some artists like to make their paintings look as real as photos. I like to create my photos as impressionistic as paintings. Getting perfect reflection photos from a stretch of water has become banal. I was fascinated by the interaction of light, shadow and fall colors caused by ripples traversing across a small pond. The constant variation of light and the focus of the objects provided the perfect conditions to create a mesmerizing, impressionistic image. I picked an area of the pond with rich colors, waited for the ripples to subside so that they would smoothly “brushed” the colors on the surface of the water into various pleasant tones and intensity, then snapped the image. Not much post-processing needed.
