Around 470 million years ago the first plants began to appear. Human beings appeared much later, about 200 000 years ago. Plants and humans have coexisted ever since.
Human beings have a subconscious need to be near nature. Interacting with nature is essential to maintaining a sense of well-being. Plants positively affect a person's psyche just by being around the plants. They may improve concentration and memory performance, reduce stress, control aggression and anger, suppress fears, helps in tolerating pain and make us calm. Plants greatly improves people's moods and help to feel relaxed. Spending time in nature gives people an increased feeling of vitality.
Plants are a complex form of life.They communicate, compete, react to sound, feel gravity, their neighbors and the rotation of the Earth.
