The arid earth is felt in the mouth, one can no longer breathe without artificial assistance, and having contact with other human beings is highly dangerous. But the crazy woman, as the other villagers call her, has found a way. An ancient and magical hidden tree that only she can see, because somehow her heart is still connected with nature. The madwoman's only chance for salvation is to fuse her soul with mother earth.

I'm alone. I find myself and a mystery box. Who is the woman in the mirror? I wonder, at times, she has a hard face and when I blink she fades into many others. Time with this magic box passes slowly, marvelously, like the flapping of a butterfly that breaks the air. This time becomes a key, a key that opens the door to freedom.



Itaihosara explores through photography the externalization of her fears and insecurities, capturing fantasy-filled moments in which she can explore her inner-world to share with the world that we all live in. She photographs herself as the characters that inhabit those places, being the creator and actress of these stories helps her to confront her emotions and discover different perspectives on her personal journey of self-exploration.



While studying, and eventually earning a degree in dramatic arts, she found photography to be her best ally in battling depression and fighting against toxic beauty standards. Over time, this tool of self-healing became the refuge and outlet for her creativity. Her passion and experience as an actress influences the creation of characters and stories and serves to enhance how she can express her inner-universe.
