Fine Art nominee

The inspiration came when I was reading an article about the New York birds that are most vulnerable to Climate Change. Being an artist means you can speak through your pictures. As David Yarnold (President and CEO of the National Audubon Society) said "This isn’t just about birds, it’s about the ecosystem we share with them. Birds have always been the indicators of the health of nature."
Beauty should not be empty. To draw attention to this problem I selected several birds and tried to embody their appearance through the general color palette, feathers, makeup, wardrobe elements, textures and even expressions of my models.
I put a lot of effort and emotion into this project. And I hope that it will draw attention to the problem reflected in it.

My name is Anastasia Selivanova. I was born in Russia and spend my childhood and youth there. I always loved to draw as long as I can remember. The desire to be an artist was born with me, grew and became an integral part of me. I always knew my happy place: in childhood it was an art school, then the Institute of Arts and Design, and later work. Before I moved to NYC and created my own company New Day Pictures I used to work for the Princess Cruises as a photographer. Photography has many different forms and I still learn something new and try myself in different areas.
