Sam and I had just grabbed a small, unhealthy breakfast at our destination. I decided that since my covid-friendly and live-streamed field trip for my environmental science students wouldn't start for another hour, I didn't want to miss a chance on a sunrise over the Tennessee River
.............................. I missed my turn.........I have like, 2 minutes.... ughhh!!!........
As I was trying desperately to find SOMETHING to photograph, I dropped my camera while setting up the shot on the side of the interstate at 6AM. My precious spears the cold, frosty grasses behind me - I don't even flinch. "It's a Canon, it'll be okay." Pinking up my camera, I inspect the integrity as I wipe what I hope is mud and dew from the lens. I take this shot and and hobble through the frosted grass in my converse trying not to look like a moron shooting the sunrise from the wrong direction.
