Trees gather around the old sage for their nighttime ritual.
The shot was made near dusk in rainy weather. My camera buried in the ground. 9 (!) mil on it. Myself lying in the mud next to it... and, finally it fit the frame how i wanted it! I have been waiting a year for the right conditions.
The edit reflects my own depressed dark mood i have some times... Somehow those shitty days often result in nice photos. Just never try to avoid your feelings when creating something.
Thank you for your time!

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Jeroen Lagerwerf is a landscape photographer based in the Netherlands.
He began his photography journey in 2019, inspired by a night spent under the Milky Way. Driven to capture the awe of that experience, Jeroen dedicated himself to mastering the art of astrophotography. Over time, he developed a passion for forest photography but his portfolio has since evolved to include the dramatic beauty of mountain landscapes, reflecting his deepening connection with nature. Above all, Jeroen feels a strong responsibility for the state of nature and value silence and solitude as a way to deeply connect with the landscape.
Style
In my work I strive to capture mood and emotion. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the night sky and love mystery and adventurous landscapes. By combining technical expertise in the field with my artistic vision in post-processing, my goal is to distill the emotion and energy of a landscape into an immersive frame.
Recognition
My photos have been featured in Dutch photography magazines, course books and the Daily Mail. Recently I was also recognized in the PanoAwards, OneEyeland World’s Top 10 and Terra Quantum Territories.
