DESCRIPTION
When we watch the night sky, stars apparently move around Polaris at North; but it’s an optical effect. Earth’s rotation movement is faster than we think,about 1,000 miles per hour. The Pythagorean school, the Indian astronomer Aryabhataand (499CE) and some Muslim astronomers (s.X) accepted that Earth rotates around its axis. The heliocentric world system adopted by Copernicus in 1543 and the contributions of Kepler, Galileo and Newton gathered support for the theory of the rotation of Earth.
The photo was taken in a ruined castle located in Serra, a village close to Valencia, Spain. It was built up in XI century by the Arabs. The Star-trail has been stacked from a 1 h Time-lapse (390 pics ISO 1600, f3.2, 10 s).
