Shadowlight (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Shadowlight is a long-term project where shadows are not necessarily represented as a metaphor of darkness, as is often believed, but rather of positivity: it is the projection of light, not its absence. The "filrouge" is represented by the shadows that become an integral and fundamental part of reality, sometimes substituting the human figure; each image can be read independently from the others but as a whole they create an almost magical and imaginative story. I try to create images that are harmonized with the urban context by dedicating time and attention to the composition and colors. Some photos seem that for a strange alchemy they "compose" themselves in a few moments, creating unique atmospheres, while others require long periods of work and research, even several weeks. This first series of images took about 2 months of work and the involvement of various collaborators whom I thank for their time and patience.
AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer I would say "evolved" always intrigued by the photographic medium for the great possibilities it offers in the creative experience even to those like me who do not have skills in drawing and painting techniques. I love to participate in photographic competitions which represent a great stimulus and a good incentive to keep doing better and better. Among my favorite authors, my attention is paid to the Magnum Photos "family" in particular Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alex Webb, Elliott Erwitt, but I also love the images of Sebastião Salgado and the Italians Ferdinando Scianna, Franco Fontana and Gianni Berengo Gardin.
