Lost Childhood (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The series „Lost Childhood“ tries to give an insight how Madagascan children handle their hard daily life. Some of them live on the streets, live off garbage and in garbage. Others try to survive through begging or heavy physical work. Pictures of these children - their faces, their smiles, their eyes full of hope and pain - cannot leave us indifferent. They help us to reflect, what otherwise we would never have reflected.
AUTHOR
Markus Lockauer is a 46 years old non commercial photographer from Austria. With more than 30 years of experience in travelling and photography he developed a deep feeling for people, emotions and cultures. Deprived of their colours - sometimes in combination of a coarse-grained wet plate and/or double exposure look – his evocative pictures evoke a touch of the past. Publications in daily newspapers, journals and websites of travel providers make his pictures open to the public.
