These photographs were taken in the Sierra de la Laguna in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
The Aztec warrior is a dancer of the Mexica tradition that proudly represents the connection that exists with the elementals and with our beloved mother Earth. In the Aztec culture the brave lived continuously risking their lives. They danced and composed songs in anticipation of their next appointment with death. My intention of this series is to honor the passage of the warriors, who are key to the development of one of the greatest and most powerful Mesoamerican peoples.
The warriors carry the plumes and their feathers with honor as they take years to collect them.
It was said that the foxes cultivated the elixir of life and could transform themselves into humans to visit the Elders and give them a sip of this elixir, prolonging their lives and improving their health.
Their typical costumes represent the majestic part of the being.
Each posture has a unique symbolism and each reflection manifests an entity and a power.
The magic of Mexico is in large part thanks to the powerful Aztec tradition.

AUTHOR
The water, the ocean, and nature have always been a fundamental part of my life, which began with my birth underwater in Manzanillo, Colima in 1989. As a free diver and surfer, I use photography to express my love for the Ocean, for the water, for life. Living abroad and observing many cultures in countries such as India, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Argentina, France, and Canada my vision transformed and began to observe life in a deeper sense, having a connection with humanity and nature, creating a new vision of what life is. Capturing true photography was the essence of my journeys. I studied audiovisual media from Guillermo del Toro at the University CAAV in Guadalajara, Jalisco and filmmaking in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This built the foundation for my new independent path, merging motion and still photography. For seven years I devoted my days to the ocean, spending my winters working with the humpback whales as a guide in Banderas Bay Mexico and summers with the whale sharks at Quintana Roo. I became a AIDA Free Diver in 2014 and a PADI Dive Master in 2015. Today I continue to capture special moments In Baja California Sur Mexico.
