Global warming is the phenomenon of a gradual increase in the temperature near the earth’s surface. This change has disturbed the climatic pattern of the earth which have a negative effect on humans, plants and animals. These causes may be natural or might be the outcome of human activities.
Due to increasing global temperature and uncontrolled use of ground water outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during the dry season, with crop yields declining at an alarming rate and the shortage of safe drinking water. On other hand during monsoon the flood and erosion situation in northern and southern part of Bangladesh is getting worse by the year. Sedimentation on the river beds and excessive water coming down due to the melting of ice-caps from the Himalayan regions causes the river Jamuna to overflow and many parts of the North-Bengal goes under water during the rainy seasons.
In addition, weather become more extreme followed by longer and drier droughts is now one of the major environmental stresses in the north part of Bangladesh that drastically limits of safe drinking water, transportation and grain yield of rice, a staple food of Bangladeshi people.
