Wildlife/Animals nominee

I made this photograph after three nights of stalking in a hut on the edge of a reed bed in Kiskunsag National Park, Hungary.
Two otters regularly visited for food in the shallow waters of the reeds illuminated by a weak artificial light. The last night it started to snow, visibility was poor and with the snow the difficulty of focusing, already difficult in weak lighting, increased further. I was lucky to be able to immortalize the animal in perfect focus and freeze the image with the flash, lighting up the snowflakes at the same time.

GIANNI MAITAN was born on April 20, 1951, since 1980 he has devoted himself mostly on wildlife photography. He has exhibited in numerous personal and collective photographic exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He has received hundreds of admissions and numerous prizes in prestigious national and international photographic competitions and with the Italian team FIAF Natura has achieved 8 World Cups at the Biennial Nature FIAP.
