Subject and context:
Cyerce elegans. Common name: Elegant butterfly sea slug.
It is a species of sacoglossan sea slug, a shell-less marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusk.
Story:
This picture has been taken in Tulamben (Bali). Getting this photo took several days and hundreds of shots. My goal was to capture the eyes, which is very difficult because the cerata are very bulky and in constant motion. The beauty of this small slug of just 1.5 centimeters lies in its translucent cerata that shine as if they were little stars.
Equipment:
Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EF 100 mm, f/2.8L IS USM + AOI UCL-900 diopters, housing: Hugyfot, Strobes 2x Sea&Sea YS-D1.
Settings: f18, 1/200, ISO 100
amateur category
Butterfly constellation (Single)
