This work is inspired by the Japanese art form "Kintsugi". I take photos of the little crevices on wall or ground on the street. These crevices are the traces of visible time.
For me, things fall apart and nobody is perfect, so imperfection is beauty, and imperfection is perfect. Just like “Kintsugi” shows how to find beauty in brokenness. Broken vessels can be used again as long as they are reattached with gold leaf.
During the covid-19 period, I use photos I take and gold leaf as my materials, through the hand-made process, it is like a journey of meditation, looking for a way of self-healing in a broken world, picking us up after loss. After all, scars are what give us character.
