Abstract nominee

I grew up in a household of painters and spent much of my youth in galleries and museums. Since I was never as strong of an artist like my father and brothers, I turned my attention to aerial photography. These photos were taken in Southern California over the past couple of years in a style that gives homage to the artist that first inspired me. They showcase humanity's influence on the earth, specifically in dry salt lakes, craters and man made lakes.

Josué Silva is a fine art photographer whose work is primarily influenced by the painting medium. His style of photography encourages his audience to uniquely interpret the abstraction with their individual experiences. By breaking down the world into simplistic shapes, patterns and textures, he presents the authentic natural beauty of the world while encouraging his audience to observe their surroundings in new and challenging ways.
