World of Wonder (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This series is a collection of chemigrams and photograms. My ideas are sparked by objects that I see daily around the house, particularly my fascination with how light reflects from different surfaces and transforms a piece of photo paper into beautiful creations. The added colour through digital means transforms the negatives into a world of wonder open to the viewer’s interpretation.
What makes me the happiest is creating from things around me and using the alternative methods of photography.
My darkroom techniques are free and spontaneous where my light sources vary from flashlights to mirror reflections to daylight. The variety of light enables unlimited possibilities!
I have an appreciation for seeing the beauty in simple things as everything has an inner spark…you just have to find ways to connect others to see it.
AUTHOR
I am a retired nurse, mom and a photographer. What makes me the happiest is creating from things around me and using the alternative and digital methods together to create something magical. The ideas are sparked by simple objects around the house and yard. One day it's a grape stem another is coffee grounds...toilette paper roll...I want people and especially children to know that you don't have to go far to create art. The world is full of small wonders!
