I stage the concept of recovery, synonymous, in our present, of precariousness, consumption, abandonment, waste of food, natural resources, things, culture, time, feelings and memories.
Placing myself beyond a white cloth, with the sunlight behind me, I created a shadow-colored silhouette that becomes my stunt double as a theater actress.
The dialogue with the viewer starts from the photographed fragment of the painting that I inserted harmoniously to continue the narration with photography, but the shot betrays the illusion, reality photographed and painted tell different scores.
On the table, food becomes waste, improper use of water becomes accumulation of plastic or drought, the disposal of things becomes tangled in the confusion of feelings.
A conscious look at everything that happens on the stage of life.
A theme that wants to stimulate reflection on the new paradigms that are being proposed in the relationships between human activities and the natural world and that only the protection of biodiversity, within a profound rethinking, in order not to remain indifferent, can save our future. . Silvia Gaffurini is a conceptual artist photographer and restorer of ancient works of art. Through the self-portrait and the art of the past she places herself as an interpreter of a message, comparing the ancient world and contemporary visions, on themes that concern the delicate balance between Humanity and the Environment, between the vulnerability of Art and its conservation, extending the gaze towards visions and interpretations of female feelings. Source of inspiration are artist photographers such as Cindy Sherman, Hannah Hoch, Madame Yevonde. In 2014 her first solo exhibition at the Mia Photo Fair in Milan, Italy. In 2015 she exhibits for Expo project at Mia Photo Fair in Milan, Italy, In the same year she exhibited in collective at the Parisian fair Fotofever. In 2018 she exhibited Mia Photo Fair with Galleria Glenda Cinquegrana Art Consulting, Milan, Italy. Since 2018 she has been part of the permanent collection of the Musinf self-portrait museum in Senigallia, Italy. In 2019 she exhibits at the BresciaPhotoFestival at the Museum of S. Giulia, Brescia, Italy. Her works have been selected in exhibition events of private galleries and her works are part of private collections.
