Conceptual nominee

This is a series of self-portraits that describes a theme of Harmony in diversity. We’ve all played the game “Whisper challenge” by passing a sentence to another person, and the last person might not hear the same as the original. If the truth of an event is the largest circle, when things are relayed, due to the different positions of the media and the background of each person, it will lead to a different understanding of the event. In the end, what reaches your ears may be only the irregular shape cut out of the circle, not all of it.
However, exchanges and interactions between different civilizations, mutual learning and integration have always been the mainstream. Confrontation and conflict between civilizations are only temporary and local phenomena, while unity in diversity is bound to exist forever.
If there is only one seasoning, there is no way to make a good dish, If there were only one color, it wouldn't paint a vivid picture, If there is only one instrument, it cannot play a sweet song. We should learn how to live together in so many different factors and relationships and find where the lines meet.

Qiting Lin (b.1994, Guangzhou) is a Chinese photographer based in Paris. She has a title of Photographie Professionnel Entrepreneur (Level 7/Master's Degree) at Spéos Photography School in Paris and she has a BA in Graphic Design at Donghua University. Her knowledge of design has become a source of inspiration for most of her photographic projects. She loves scenes design for objects in an aesthetic context and she is obsessed about special relationships between different elements of those scenes.
